Tim Cooper, Director of Event Technologies 

Tim Cooper began his career with Markey’s in 1998 as Assistant Manager in the Des Moines, IA office.  Tim’s aptitude for the business became quickly apparent, so when the Iowa Events Center (IEC) opened in Des Moines and Markey’s became the Preferred Audiovisual Provider (2005), Tim was promoted to the Director of Event Technology position for the IEC.

Tim’s Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and his experience working in audiovisual production has given him a sense of the importance of maintaining a strong theme and message through all elements of an event, including décor and backdrop design.  He also has experience as the music director of a church, which makes him exceptionally qualified in understanding the goals and dynamics of religious events.

JOE KOELLING, OPERATIONS MANAGER
 
Joe Koelling joined the Markey's team at the Iowa Events Center in 2008. Joe brings to the table years of experience in the audiovisual field:  audio production, audio and video post-production, sales, and business management.  Prior to joining Markey’s, Joe operated a commercial recording studio for approximately 15 years, and has been a lifelong musician, playing piano, trombone, guitar and bass. Joe obtained his college education at Drake University in Des Moines, majoring in music and business.
 
Joe enjoys developing strong relationships with clients, and his strong communication skills and attention to detail ensure that the client will be totally satisfied at the conclusion of an event.
“My favorite thing without a doubt is to open up new possibilities for the clients we work with.  During the planning process, I always try to present a few ideas they haven’t thought of, and get them to see their event as something unique and special.  It’s fun to watch their reaction when they see it all come to life.”  
 
WRALPH  JACKSON, CREW LEADER
 
Wralph's passion for AV began in Junior High School, volunteering in the AV department that served the school.  In high school he was heavily involved in theater productions, assisting with lighting and audio.  Wralph continued his studies at the School of Communications Arts in Minneapolis, MN, where he studied video production and media arts, and graduated with honors.  Wralph worked as in audiovisual management for two different hotels in three cities, but missing the Midwest, he relocated to Des Moines where he joined the Markey's team in 2006.
 
As Event Technician onsite at the Iowa Events Center, Wralph has had the opportunity to work with customers in a wide variety of industries, helping each with their unique needs for their special events.  Clients describe Wralph as friendly and going beyond and above in providing great service.
